This Quote “Identify your fears and weaknesses and conqer them” by Dr. Tae Yun Kim – Teacher, is the first of six Principles of Mental Conduct in Jung SuWon Martial Arts Academy and in her Seven Steps to Inner Power book.
Let’s say you have a fear falling down an escalator. You don’t know why you have such a fear when stepping onto the top of the escalator. You don’t know where this fear came from, but it is there. To acknowledge the fear is to first admit it. “I am afraid of fallig down an escalator.” Then do some research to find out how this fear came about. Did you fall down an escalator when you were a toddler? And have you been carrying this fear with you your whole life?
Then once you know where the fear came from, change your thoughts from negative “Fear” to positive (for example: “Courage”). The next time you go to an escalator relax and think positive thoughts when stepping onto the first step. Each time thereafter think positive thoughts when stepping onto the steps. How do you feel? Do you feel different when stepping off of the escalator?
